The Reaper is the new gaming mouse from Ideazon.  I was very excited when I got this mouse, because my old mouse was just not up to par with gaming.  I had never used a optical mouse before and I was very curious. My first impressions was just "wow!" Installing the Reaper was easy and the software for it is simple to use.

Upon upgrading from a ball to an optical mouse, I saw a vast improvement in mouse speed and response.  This will help your gaming extremely, once you get used to the new speed of the mouse.  I played around with the mouse for an hour or so.  I was very impressed with the Reaper. My old mouse was a six button IBM mouse made for windows 98.  Yeah, very old mouse, especially since I use Windows XP and the drivers are custom made.  Everyone gets accustomed to their mouse and it's hard to change.  But I did not find it that hard to get used to. There were some things I did not like, but I will discuss that in a bit.

There are many perks in upgrading to an optical or laser mouse. Aside from faster mouse pointer speeds, style, and easier clean up (you know cleaning the ball and little wheels inside to make the mouse pointer move faster).  Most versions of an optical mouse these days are sleek with a hint of flare to give it that cutting edge look. There are some draw backs to using an optical mouse and when I find one I will tell you.

Though very stylish, I could only find one fault in the design; the layout of the three extra buttons on the left side of the mouse. Instead of vertically aligned (so my thumb can move just a bit to hit them), my thumb was positioned awkwardly and kept hitting the buttons when I was not meaning to, which caused some delay in my real response. Once I was able to control this, my response time to these buttons was better.  The second thing I had a problem with, was figuring out if the mouse accepts function controls.  With my old mouse, I could have F1-F12 as a button option, but with this mouse it just did not work.

Pros

1) Faster Movement
2) 6 Programable Buttons
3) Easy DPI Switching
4) Less Cleaning "still needed"
5) Just buy it already

Cons

1) Three side buttons felt weird and out of place
2) No function control

Overall Rating: 8.5/10

Overall, this mouse is perfect if you want to upgrade to optical. Score would of been about 9.5 if it had function control.
